It’s always interesting to see the other side of the weather story, so here goes:
Yesterday, 12th February, some fish farm workers in Ireland got into a bit of trouble. While working on the fish cages, they were hit by strong winds – and realized that they’d have serious, and potentially life-threatening, trouble getting ashore across big seas and in gale-force winds.
So they did they the sensible thing – got on the VHF and called the coastguard, who decided to call out the local RNLI inshore lifeboat. The lifeboat went out, though some pretty rough conditions, and picked-up the guys. Here’s the video:
No fuss, no big excitement – just 4 guys sitting at home in comfort that evening, thanks to people who’d say it wasn’t that big a thing.
